Dr. Woodruff Invitation

How can cancer treatment affect a woman’s fertility?
The Oncofertility Consortium® is a national, interdisciplinary initiative designed to explore the reproductive future of cancer survivors.  This evening we are fortunate to hear from the two pioneer visionaries of this emerging field of science. Teresa K. Woodruff, Ph.D, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, coined the term oncofertility to describe a new discipline that bridges oncology and reproductive medicine in order to discover and apply new fertility preservation options for young patients with fertility-threatening diseases or treatments. Dr. R. Jeffrey Chang, Professor and Director of Reproductive Endocrinology in the Department of Reproductive Medicine at UCSD, was instrumental in working with Dr. Woodruff to develop the clinical research initiatives of the nationwide project, “Oncofertility Consortium: Fertility Preservation in Women with Cancer”
