Middle School Science Education Leadership Initiative (MSSELI)

Overview

The MSSELI program identifies lead science teachers from San Diego City and County middle schools to participate in an intensive summer and academic year professional development program focused on science content, leadership strategies, and collaboration with area public and private scientific institutions.  The program was developed by the San Diego County Office of Education, San Diego Unified School District, The San Diego Foundation, and the San Diego Science Alliance.  

MSSELI Vision:

• Develop a scientifically literate society

Goals:

• Identify and support San Diego area middle school science teacher leaders who will serve as catalysts for change.
• Establish a professional learning community.
