A tour of the weirdest living things on Earth! Students will first pick a theme common to living organisms (e.g. locomotion, respiration, etc.) and research the unconventional strategies by which life forms accomplish the chosen theme. Students will then use their compiled information on the crazy ways organisms operate to answer questions such as: Why are there so many different ways to do the same thing? When might one strategy be more advantageous than another? What is the value of diversity? Emphasis will be placed on data collection, observations, reading and creating graphs, and critically analyzing results.
