Teachers apply to the program and indicate the academic cluster in which they would like to participate. Each cluster is led by a UCSD faculty team who are offering the courses.

Description: This activity-based curriculum is composed of 18 lessons linked to the California Science Standards. Earth Resources is appropriate for a wide variety of middle and high school science classrooms including integrated science and environmental science and has specific "pathways" to address the standards in: Sixth Grade Earth Science, High School Earth Science, High School Biology/Ecology and High School Auto Technology. Description: Expanding Your Horizons is an annual conference aimed to interest girls, aged 11 to 16 (grades 6-10), in science, math, and engineering.
Participants engage in 3 hands-on workshops in different disciplines and meet with women scientists and engineers.
Group activities are designed to introduce the participants to other like-minded girls who are considering careers in science.
Participants will:
• Explore science, math and engineering in a fun and interactive setting
• Learn about math and science-based careers
• Discover what scientists do in a typical day
• Network with professional women in science and engineering
