FREE educational live music experience at the San Diego Air and Space Museum

La Jolla Music Society and the San Diego Air & Space Museum are pleased to offer a FREE opportunity for your school group to hear classical music with an astronomy theme.

Tafelmusik is an award-winning Canadian orchestra, and The Galileo Project: Music of the Spheres is their contribution to the International Year of Astronomy, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s development and use of the astronomical telescope. Using music, words and images, they will both educate and entertain about the wonders of astronomy and music.

Who: This special event is designed for elementary school groups, primarily in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Other schools and groups with a particular interest in the subject area are also welcome to inquire about attendance.

When: Friday, February 5, 2010.

Performance begins at 11:30am and will end at 12:30pm. Groups must arrive no later than 11:15am.

Where: San Diego Air & Space Museum, Balboa Park. CLICK HERE for directions and other information on the museum.

Price: FREE. Student groups will also have the opportunity to visit the museum’s general exhibition galleries.
