FREE RESOURCE: OUR WETLANDS, OUR WORLD ACTIVITY KITS

Dear Educators,

The California Coastal Commission’s Community-Based Restoration and Education Program is proud to announce the availability of the "Our Wetlands, Our World" activity kits.

The "Our Wetlands, Our World" high school activity guide (available on-line - CLICK HERE) was released in 2005.  Now, activity kits with equipment specific to 10 activities are available on loan FROM OUR NEWPORT BEACH OFFICE.

The available kits are (with curriculum page number):

Mapping Your Watershed (p. 15)

Wetland Habitats (p. 23)

Explore a Wetland (p. 35)

Wetland Webs (p. 40)

Wetland Soil (p. 43)

Changes Over Time (p. 70)

Nonpoint Source Pollution (p. 75)

Space for Species (p. 90)

Seed Experiments (P. 116)

Plant Monitoring (p. 124)

The activity kits were designed to provide an easy source for some of the harder-to-get equipment necessary to conduct these activities with your students.  By borrowing these kits, you can move forward with your plans to use these activities with less stress over preparation time.  Kits are available for two-week loan periods, with an opportunity for one renewal if no other request has been made.
