Tijuana Estuary Explorers Teacher Training

FIELD TRIP OPPORTUNITY

Tijuana Estuary Explorers Teacher Training

Monday, January 11th

2:30 - 6:30pm

“Tijuana Estuary Explorers” is an in-class and field trip program, targeted at 3rd – 6th grade that meets state standards, is DAIT approved, and incorporates reading, expository writing and science into four comprehensive hands-on activities about the Tijuana Estuary and its watershed.

A mandatory teacher training is required for all teachers who wish to participate in this program. The training will guide teachers through the student journal which includes both an in-class and a field trip portion (mostly outside). A teacher’s guide and student journals will be given out at the training so teachers should bring a box or bag to accommodate. After completing this, you will be able to bring your class on a field trip every year.

Where: Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center

              301 Caspian Way, Imperial Beach

              (619-575-3613)

Bring: Walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, & a bag or box to put your student journals

Register: By January 6, 2010 if you wish to attend.
