Free NASA-Sponsored Teacher Workshop with Space Author Andrew Chaikin

Want to explore the moon with renowned space journalist and author of A Man on the Moon, Andrew Chaikin? Join us at our educator presentation Exploring the Moon, sponsored by NASA. During the course of an hour you will learn: what formed the craters of the moon; why does the moon always keep one face pointed toward the Earth, and why does the side we see look so different from the far side; and where did the Apollo astronauts visit, and what did they find? Chaikin will also look ahead to the LCROSS lunar-impact mission, which will strike the moon's south pole on October 9 to tell scientists whether deposits of ancient ice lie waiting at the lunar poles. Don't miss the great FREE educator only event.

The free Educator-only Exploring the Moon presentation will be held at the San Diego Air & Space Museum on October 3rd from 10:30 - 11:30 am. RSVPs are required, so please use the following link to join us for this great space opportunity: http://www.sandiegoairandspace.org/upcoming/chaikin_rsvp.html <http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=42291142&msgid=287086&act=Y2QC&c=525526&admin=0&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sandiegoairandspace.org%2Fupcoming%2Fchaikin_rsvp.html>
