SDAITC is organizing this event to raise awareness among educators about the contributions of San Diego County's agriculture and horticulture community. This short and festive event will also connect teachers to resources for garden-based learning. Teachers can pick up an application for the annual SDAITC School Garden Grant Program, and see what great things have happened at dozens of local schools as a result of this great local funding source.
FREE FOOD AND PLANTS! Several nutrition and gardening-related organizations will provide information about their free or low cost programs for schools. Interspersed among them will be tables featuring San Diego agricultural producers - including persimmons, tomatoes, mushrooms, air-purifying houseplants, and more - and free samples for your classroom. Amazing appetizers will provided by Dining Details Catering with donations from Be Wise Farm, Pizza Fusion, and Coconut Bliss Ice Cream. Woof'n Rose Winery of Ramona will provide tastes of their locally produced wines!
If you wanted to ask questions about local agriculture from people who live it every day, here's the place to find the answers.
