This came about because of a dialog with some business people about the issue of using test scores to measure teacher effectiveness.
Interestingly, when I wrote this, Emily Alpert tried in vain to find a counter-blogger who might champion the opposite point of view (maybe because the conventional wisdom isn't so wise, eh?)
