Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Community College  and Adult Education Educators are invited to attend our November TeacherTECH Technology Tools Series focused on transitioning from Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 to the 2007 version.

      Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm

San Diego Supercomputer Center, Training Room 279

      University of California, San Diego

Workshop Overview

Have you been asked to put together a PowerPoint presentation, but you're not sure how to start now that you are using PowerPoint 2007? In this workshop, you will learn the basics, including how to use the new 2007 interface to create slides and put content on them; format and custom design the slides; and prepare speaker notes and handouts.

This workshop is for teachers who have worked with earlier versions of PowerPoint, and who have recently upgraded to PowerPoint 2007.  Upon learning the basics mentioned above, this workshop will give you the skills to enhance a presentation by applying custom layouts and themes, create dynamic presentations by applying advanced text and graphic effects, and finalize a presentation by customizing slide shows, securing the presentation, and saving the presentation.

This workshop will help you  transition from PowerPoint 2003 to PowerPoint 2007, showing you how to navigate the new features of the 2007 version as compared with the similar features in the 2003 version.

In this workshop, you will learn about:

  • The Microsoft Office Button
  • The Quick Aceess Toolbar
  • The Title Bar
  • The Ribbon
  • Rulers
  • Slides, Placeholders, and Notes
  • Status Bar, Tabs, View Buttons, and More
  • Slide Creation, Layout Changes, and Themes
