Exploring STEM Careers with the Sea Perch San Diego Project

Sea Perch is a hands-on project that has been developed to stimulate the interest in science and engineering in middle and high school classrooms. SDSA, SPAWAR and US Navy have collaborated to bring this exciting curriculum building activity to San Diego in a series of Friday/Saturday workshops.

First workshop opportunity will take place at Millennial Tech Middle School 1110 Carolina Lane San Diego, CA 92102 on Friday, Dec 10, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Saturday Dec. 11, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Build or enhance an existing STEM based PBA classroom or extra-curricular activity which addresses science, math and technology content standards by participating in one of these unique workshops.

  • Curriculum used will be the MIT Sea Perch ROUV plan. An instruction manual and coordinated classroom science and math lessons will also be provided.
  • Participating teams will have the opportunity to participate in Sea Perch Challenges as well as behind-the-scene field trips to SeaBotix Inc and US Navy technical facilities.  Dates TBA.
