Workshop Description
Educators are sometimes hesitant to teach space-related science and history subjects because they feel they lack enough basic background knowledge. In this workshop, San Diego Air and Space Museum Director of Education Francis French and Museum Educator Shalene Baxter will take you through a fact-packed tour of the human space program, followed by the opportunity to see and try simple, cheap and effective hands-on projects that are easy to do with students and family groups of many ages. Participants will also see real space objects such as the flown Apollo 9 spacecraft in the museum’s collection.
All participants will receive a workshop certificate endorsed by the San Diego County Office of Education for professional development credit.
Please join us for an exciting and informative session of hands-on learning presented by Dr. Francis French, Director of Education,San Diego Air and Space Museum.
Registration is free. Space is limited. Please contact Ange Mason at amason@ucsd.edu to reserve your space.
