TeacherTECH Technology Tools Series - Using SMART technology in the classroom

Elementary School, Middle School , High School and Community College Educators are invited to attend our TeacherTECH Technology Tools Series focused on using SMART technology in the classroom.

 Monday, February 22, 2010

5:00pm - 7:00pm

San Diego Supercomputer Center, Room 279

University of California, San Diego

Workshop Description

This is a beginning workshop for teachers who are starting to use or who are interested in using a SMART Interactive Whiteboard. This workshop will assist you in using the SMART Notebook software so that you can create engaging interactive lessons to meet the needs of your students. You will learn how to find lessons and templates that correlate to standards along with how to create your own lessons using the software. This software is free and you do not need a SMART board to use or to learn the software.

This workshop is open to all grade levels. Use of interactive technology in your classroom is a marvelous way to educate students, regardless of their learning style, and add some pizzazz to your lessons. This workshop will give practical ways on how you can keep your students focused and engaged while learning key components of the curriculum.

Workshop Highlights and What to Expect

We have an onsite computer lab for teacher use. Please also feel free to bring your laptop. Please bring a flash drive for take home components. Tutors will be available and handouts will be provided. There will also be hands-on time for practice and creating a take home lesson.

Please join us for an exciting and informative session presented by Kelly Smith, SMART Exemplary Educator and teacher at The Nativity School

Registration is free. Space is limited. Please contact Ange Mason at 858-534-5064 or amason@ucsd.edu to reserve your space.
