FREE Fleet Inquiry Institute for K-8 and Pre-service teachers
The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center presents their Annual FREE Fleet Inquiry Institute for K-8 and Pre-service teachers this August 9th-13th, 2010 from 9:00am-3:00pm each day.
Join other educators from around the region for 5 days in Balboa Park to explore how inquiry-based, hands-on teaching methods can support the work you do in the K-8 classroom. Compare approaches to hands-on science, examine the role of questioning in your own learning, and build conceptual understanding of the authentic use of science process skills.
The Fleet Inquiry Institute is dedicated to providing a safe and productive space where educators can come together at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center to examine the different dimensions of teaching and learning. This workshop is designed for individuals at all levels of comfort and experience with teaching science.
Workshop participants receive a free IMAX movie ticket and free entrance to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center along with select other museums during the week of August 9th-13th. After completion of this week long institute participants become part of a teacher network of over 500 Fleet Inquiry Institute Alumni and gain access to the Teacher Think Tank resources of the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.
