SPIE’s Conference on Optics Education and Outreach
Optics Education and Outreach (Conference 7783)
The Optics Education and Outreach Conference is crafted to provide the community with a snapshot of the current state of education in the field of optics and photonics. It will also bring together individuals working outside of the community who inspire youth to pursue the study of science and optics. Session topics in the field include: Professional Development; Assessment; K-12 Programs; Informal Education; and College Programs. In addition, there will be a no-host luncheon with Professor Noah Finkelstein, a noted physicist who creates and studies conditions which promote students' interest and ability in physics. And don’t miss the Optics Outreach Olympics – an opportunity to see SPIE Student Chapters’ educational outreach demonstrations, learn new activities for the classroom and collect materials (free posters, CDs, and DVDs) to help get you started.
SPIE will waive the $35 conference fee for the first 25 teachers that email June Thompson ( June@spie.org) stating their interest in having the conference fee waived.
