2010 High Tech Fair - The most successful to date!
SDSA would like to thank all who contributed to the success of the 2010 High Tech Fair. This year’s event was our biggest and best yet! Our enthusiastic exhibitors, from 54 leading companies and local organizations, ensured students were engaged and inspired by interactive demonstrations showcasing various STEM concepts from the following learning strands:
- Biotech
- Clean Tech/Energy
- Conservation/Environmental Science
- Engineering/Aerospace/Transportation
- Healthcare Technology
- High Tech/Computer Tech/Telecommunications
- Robotics
Student Parent Night exceeded our expectations. Nearly 800 students and their parents participated in this first ever public High Tech Fair event, which was significant considering it was mid-week over the dinner hour. Exhibitors reported that this event allowed them to make meaningful connections with students on a one-on-one basis. Involvement of parents provided the opportunity to increase their awareness of the many STEM learning opportunities available and to encourage them to continue nurturing their kids’ interest in STEM. We hope to expand upon this success next year.
The traditional school day event was attended by approximately 2000 students from over 50 schools. This year’s students were well prepared and excited about the STEM concepts being demonstrated. Overall, our best High Tech Fair to date!
