Join Dr. Naomi Oreskes of UCSD for a powerful discussion on the dark secrets of the American scientific community and skewed public understanding of global warming and other critical issues. Based on Dr. Oreskes’ recently released book Merchants of Doubt, the program will conclude with a book signing. The book will be available for purchase.
Naomi Oreskes, Ph.D. is a professor of History and Science Studies at UCSD and the provost of Sixth College which focuses on the theme of culture, art and technology. Her research focuses on the historical development of scientific knowledge, methods, and practices in the earth and environmental sciences. She has also provided testimony to the United States Senate on the history of climate science.
