The textbook has been central to education for centuries. Its design and use to transmit knowledge has been crucial for the advancement of humanity. Hardware costs have been, and continue to be dramatically decreasing while computing power increases to the point that portable devices can begin to replace the textbook. How such textbooks can revolutionize teaching and the opportunities for more student-centered teaching will be discussed. The current options available for digital books will be shared, as well.
All participants will be provided a complimentary interactive digital middle school science book during the workshop.
