Captivating, Haunting - Isaac Newton On Stage

We are privileged to announce that a travelling drama, Let Newton Be, commissioned out of Cambridge University (The Faraday Institute at Edmunds College) will be on PLNU’s campus Thursday, April 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Crill Performance Hall.  Based on the life of one of the two or three most important figures in the history of science, Sir Isaac Newton, the drama has been reviewed highly in Science Magazine, America’s leading science journal.  It is currently touring North America and Britain, including productions in Glasgow, London, Boston, Toronto and New York City.  In the words of Rebecca Stott and Hannah Morrish, authors of the Science Magazine review:

Can theater be a platform for science?  In the hands of Baxter, Morris, and Menagerie Theatre—yes.  Spectacularly yes.

This performance is sponsored jointly by PLNU’s Office of the Provost and The BioLogos Foundation and we are honored to have been invited by one of the world’s leading science/faith organizations, The Faraday Institute to host the event.  Tickets should be purchased quickly since space may be limited.

This is a great multi-disciplinary opportunity—general education at its finest.   Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested.

Isaac Newton - heretic, alchemist, genius. The Faraday Institute at Cambridge University commissioned Menagerie Theatre to write and produce Let Newton Be!, a play that brings the complex and controversial character and iconic figure of Sir Isaac Newton to life: a devout, difficult, obsessive man who sought and found God in universal laws of light and motion.

This professional production is on tour with stops in London, Boston, and New York City. Click here to read the review in Science Magazine.
