San Diego Children and Nature—Educators’ Night Tuesday evening, May 3, 2011
Please join us for a stimulating evening with local teachers and other nature educators, at two Balboa Park locations. Start with a meeting of the San Diego Children and Nature Collaborative (SDCaN) from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in the Parker-French classroom of the San Diego Natural History Museum. Launch the new Shrublands’ curriculum materials from SDCaN, learn about taking Nearby Nature Field Trips, and sign up to be a “Natural Teacher.” A short meeting of the SDCaN Education Committee will follow, and you are welcome to join us. Then attend either the SD Science Alliance Awards Program from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, or the last lecture in the Museum’s Sustainable Planet: Children and Nature Lecture Series from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

San Diego Science Alliance 2011 Partnership Awards. The event "Time Flies" celebrates 15 years of partnerships and will be held on May 3, 2011 at the San Diego Air and Space Museum, 2001 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101 on Tuesday, May 3 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm (in Balboa Park). The awards ceremony will be preceded by a small reception and a no host bar. All attendees will have the opportunity to view the exhibits at the museum. Richard Louv lecture and book-launch on May 6, 7:30 pm, for new book THE NATURE PRINCIPLE
Richard Louv has written a new book, The Nature Principle, and he’s launching it with a lecture on Friday, May 6 at Point Loma Nazarene University!
