Expanding your Horizons Conference, specifically designed for young women in grades 6 through 10

Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the University of San Diego   

8:30 AM to 3:15 PM

This one day conference offers the students the chance to select the content area of the individual workshops they will attend.  The workshops are hands on and interactive.  Each student attends three different workshops.

Interactions with female mentors from college math, science and technology programs

Lunch is provided at no charge

Free  round-trip bus transportation is provided from school sites throughout the county.  Sign up information is part of the on line registration.  Adult chaperones are on the busses.

Registration fee of $20 includes lunch, t-shirt and registration materials.  Teacher please note that Fee Waived scholarships are available by checking the appropriate box on the on line registration.

There is a separate program for parents.  Parent registration is also on the web site.  The special sessions for parents will provide information on STEM education and career opportunities.  These workshops will also help parents learn how to nurture the girls' science interests and prepare for college.
