Coastweeks 2011 invitation

Dear Educators,

Each fall, people all over the country participate in COASTWEEKS, a celebration of our coastal and water resources. This year COASTWEEKS takes place from September 17 to October 9, kicked off by the 27^th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day. The California Coastal Commission will feature and publicize a calendar of events in a special section of our website. Special events created for COASTWEEKS as well as prescheduled coast- and water-related events are eligible. Your school, troop, church, club, or organization is invited to organize an event for COASTWEEKS.  We encourage events from throughout the state. This celebration is a great way to expand your outreach and to participate in a nation-wide effort to encourage appreciation and preservation of our coast and inland waterways.

If you'd like to publicize your coast- or water-related event(s) during COASTWEEKS, please submit the details at http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/coastweeks/coastweeks.html, or refer me to event information on your website by sending me an email. Submit your event by August 29 to be included in the calendar when it goes online September 1. Please forward this invitation to others in California working for our coast and waterways.
