Student Volunteers Sought for World Water Monitoring: March 22 – December 10, 2011
The San Diego Citizen Watershed Monitoring
Consortium, part of a worldwide
effort to improve water quality, invites you to participate in the World Water
Monitoring 2011 program. This program presents an important opportunity for
every student to become involved on a local, national and international
scale. Volunteer monitors will visit
local water bodies to test for four basic indicators of water quality: dissolved
oxygen, pH, turbidity/clarity and temperature. Data collected will be entered
into a global data base that stores all information collected during the water
monitoring period, between March 22 and December 10, 2011. Water quality experts from San Diego
Coastkeeper are available to provide advice on site selection and data
collection. Teachers and students can
join with local water monitoring groups and students abroad by registering at www.sdcwmc.org. Free test kits are available and bus transportation
costs may be covered. Register Now!
