California Education and the Environment Initiative Curriculum Workshop for Science AND History Social Science Teachers, Grades 6-12
Hello teachers,
There will be a workshop taking place on the California Education and the Environment Initiative Curriculum developed by the California Department of Education to support environmental education. You can use these materials to supplement existing curriculum or in some places substitute for existing curriculum since it is standards aligned. There are units for both science and social studies. This workshop will showcase both subject areas. As a bonus you will receive a DVD of all the curriculum units and one unit printed for you (of your choice) by the Initiative. Thanks!

The California Education and the Environment initiative is a movement underway to reach up to 6.2 million K-12 students and 150,000 teachers with a first-of-its kind, standards-based curriculum related to the environment. The curriculum is fully developed, classroom tested, and State Board of Education-approved. When successfully implemented in classrooms, it will increase environmental literacy and better prepare students for academic and career choices. This workshop will introduce you to the curriculum.
