Strengthening Scientific Explanation in the Classroom

Secondary Teacher Institute: August 15-17, 2011 -- 9:00am to 3:00pm daily (Monday-Wednesday)

Elementary Teacher Institute: August 17-19 -- 9:00am to 3:00pm daily (Wednesday-Friday)

What goes into developing a strong scientific explanation? How can we support students in developing stronger scientific explanations? What tools can we use to asses student scientific explanations?  What role do they play in the classroom?

Join colleagues and other teachers from the San Diego Science Project to tackle these questions this summer in Balboa Park at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center’s Fleet Inquiry Institute.

The Fleet Inquiry Institute is part of the San Diego Science Project.

COST: $20 registration fee (completely refunded after participants attend all 3 days)

CREDIT: credit is available through UCSD Extension
