Attention 7th and 8th Grade Science Teachers - BE WiSE Program is now accepting applications

We would like your help in identifying and encouraging girls in 7th or 8th grade who are interested in science, engineering, or technology to apply to BE WiSE. BE WiSE stands for is Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering. This program was established to help increase the number of women who enter the science and engineering fields.  Any girl, as long as she is genuinely interested in science and engineering experiences, has all the qualifications she needs to apply. This is not just for your straight A students, but rather for all students who would enjoy learning about science, engineering, and technology in a hands-on environment.

We are aware that many 7th and 8th grade girls may be intimidated by having to write an essay, which will be used in the evaluation process. Please reassure your students that they do not need to be science superstars or great writers to be chosen for the BE WiSE program. If they are interested in participating in ongoing science-related activities, then please encourage them to apply.
