Are these scenes from a Science Fiction Movie? No! These are all happening today, here on Earth. Energy Independence, Fossil Fuels in decline, Climate Change, Air & Water Pollution, Financial investment, Energy Security, Jobs….These are all reasons to refocus our attention on the Sun, the prime source of energy powering life on Earth.
This workshop will help you integrate engaging and fun activities into your classroom curriculum centered on the Sun.
Discover the magic of Photovoltaics through hands-on exploration.

- Solar cells like it hot, or cold. Which one is it?
- Effects of shade, tilt, and orientation. Learn how to maximize the power output of your solar cell.
- Build a Solar ZipCharger – a portable solar charger for your cell phone and iPod/mp3 player
- Get Creative! design and build a Solar Musical Whirlygig
